NEW! The Hampton-Dumont school board has given approval to pursue a one-to-one laptop initiative for Hampton-Dumont High School students. For information on a one-to-one initiative, click HERE.
Due to the presence of H1N1 flu virus, Mr. Grundmeyer has issued the following statement:
"Attendance should be a high priority for Hampton-Dumont students and parents. However, the health and welfare of students is of utmost importance at this time more than ever. Students who have any flu-like symptoms need to stay home until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications. Absences due to flu-like symptoms will not be in violation of the school's attendance policy. If it is necessary for your son or daughter to be absent for an extended time, you may request your child's homework, email teachers for assignments, and/or check PowerSchool for future assignments. Students will be allowed double the time they miss to make up school work related to an excused absence."

What's happening at HDHS?
Mrs. Meade's Mass Media class recently worked on still shot animations. The students, working with partners, took still pictures, and with the use of iPhoto and iMovie, created a video. They were helped in the process by Mr. Rob Hoffman, TAG coordinator at HDHS. The movie we have posted here was created by Alicia Pecha and Aryel LaRue. Alicia noted that it was a real learning process for Mrs. Meade and for her students, since none had done still animations previously. Alicia enjoyed making the video, dispite some camera difficulties. Overcoming those technical problems helped her understand the process better, and she feels it would be much easier to create a new animation with the knowledge she gained from her initial experience.
