NEW! South Side Elementary has recently subscribed to the Everyday Mathematics On-line Games. The games align with our Everyday Math series. This subscription allows students to use the Internet and actively play the same mathematical games they play in the classroom. Our subscription also allows students to access and play the games at home as well. Contact your child's teacher for information on accessing the site from home.

Kindergarten Fall Festival
The kindergarten students at South Side held their Fall Festival Friday, October 30. There were six stations for the kids to experience. They got to see a live owl, learn about spiders, used musical instruments to "illustrate" a story, did an activity on "prediction", and had a "gourd hunt" obstacle course. The students had a GREAT time together!

Traffic Reminders

With the addition of third grade to South Side Elementary, there is a larger number of students being dismissed from school at the end of the day. Please pay close attention to the traffic reminders:

  • It is critical that parents and students cross streets at the designated areas.
  • Please keep the center lane of traffic moving at all times.
  • Do not park in areas with yellow diagonal lines. These areas are reserved for buses.

Dismissal Request

We begin our dismissal procedures at 3:25 p.m. This involves students being called to line up in the hallways and be escorted out of the building at various times. In order to assist us with this process, we ask that parents please wait for their children outside of the front doors. This allows for a smoother dismissal with less congestion and confusion. Thank you!

Winter Weather
Please be sure your son or daughter has snow pants, boots, coats, hats, and gloves so that they can fully participate in recess and othe routdoor activities!
